“Your brother wants to go to the Darkness…”You know, every now and then I come back to how this season started, because it tells the entire tragic story in one sentence, because the very first thing we heard of this season in the season opener was Dean’s voice saying over a dark screen: “The truth is I’m past saving. I know how my story ends.” and it captures what the narrative has been strengthening ever since. This week’s episode only emphasized it yet another time by the exposition of the “first rule of hunting”: You can’t save everyone. But the thing is, I think Dean will do just that himself when returning from the dead.
